The latest technology also incorporates a unique SHR or Super Hair Removal technology that was invented and patented by wavelength systems of hair removal. This means being able to gradually heat up the hair roots in a comfortable gliding manner instead of small painful, ‘hot’ shots one by one throughout the surface of your skin. This not only makes it more comfortable but it is also a way more efficient method. On top of that, a third technology is added to cool the surface of your skin effectively while the roots are heated up gradually. This renders the treatment process quick, comfortable and pain-free! How Laser Hair Removal works?

Super Hair Removal is a semi permanent hair reduction method that uses the gentle yet precise beam of laser to remove unwanted hair. It targets the hair follicles underneath the skin whilst the surrounding area remains unaffected.

Laser hair removal is a 3 step procedure which involves cleaning, shaving and laser. After cleansing the treatment area, the area will be gently shaved. (You may opt to shave before you come to quicken the process)

The clean , shaven area is now ready for laser treatment. Cool ultrasound gel will be applied and the area will be additionally pre cooled with the laser’s cool sapphire tip to prevent any superficial burns and to make the procedure comfortable and painless. The designated area will then be treated in a gentle gliding method to gradually heat up the dermis area to effectively damage hair follicles and significantly impede their growth. The skin is always kept cool on the surface making this procedure suitable for all skin types including tanned skin. The hair will start shedding after 1-3 weeks, and will significantly reduce the hair growth in the treated area. Laser hair removal works best in the hair Anagen phase (Growing). Sadly, not all hair grows at the same time. Therefore follow-up sessions will be needed for optimum results.

What can I expect from this treatment?

With every treatment, you should notice the difference as the treated hair should shed off over the next couple of weeks. Eventually, the hair on the treatment zone will become sparse. You can expect a reduction of at least 80-90% of total hair reduction in the treatment area if you follow the treatment protocol.

Is this treatment suitable for ingrown hair problem?

Yes, this treatment is highly recommended for patients who suffer from recurrent ingrown hairs problem.

Ingrown hairs are hairs that have curled around and grown back into your skin instead of rising from it. It is also known as “razor bumps” and can be itchy & uncomfortable. Worst, it may darken the skin (hyperpigmentation) or even leave behind a scar when it became infected. Ironically, Ingrown hairs usually happen when you try to remove hair by shaving or waxing. Hair will always grow back when you remove it these ways. Therefore, this makes the Alma Laser Diode Permanent Hair Removal treatment an effective and long-lasting solution for preventing & removing ingrown hairs. As the laser hair removal can remove and damage the hair follicle at a more precise level without harming the skin and at the same time, prevents the hair from growing back.

Is there any downtime?

No Downtime and it won’t affect daily life. Patients can immediately resume their regular daily activities.

Is it painful? How its feel like?

Virtually painless. Although some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation on certain sensitive areas. Usually, no anaesthetic or numbing cream needed during the procedure. The cooled handpiece cools and soothes as it glides along your skin when the pulse of light is delivered, minimizes the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other laser hair removal. in sensitive areas numb cream is applied to make the procedure comfortable and relaxing.

How many sessions do I need?

For optimum results, 6 – 12 sessions will be suggested to treat all hair follicles completely, but this may vary among individuals. The suggested sessions are depending on the body parts, hair density, and the hair growth cycle.

Why it needs more than 1 sessions?

Not all hairs are growing at the same rate. For optimum results, consistent treatments will allow hair follicles to be treated in the right hair growth phase. Each hair passes through 3 phases of the hair growth cycle. The anagen (active growing phase of the hair), Catagen (Regression/Hair Growth stops) and Telogen (Resting phase). Laser Hair removal treatment works effectively by targeting the hair follicles at the Anagen (active growth) phase, which usually consists of 20% of hair during each treatment. Since not all hairs will enter this active growth phase at the same time, additional sessions may be necessary to disable all the hair follicles in a given area.

What is the interval of this treatment?

The interval of the follow-up session would span between 3-6 weeks and may vary on the individual condition and body part.

Can I shave between sessions?

Yes, unlike waxing, you can shave between sessions and know that it won’t interfere with your hair removal treatment. The hair on the treatment zone will become sparser after every treatment.

Possible Side Effects

* After the treatment, there are possibilities of mild redness on the treated area and the hair follicles on the treated area may be raised and bumpy. However, these symptoms will usually subside within an hours but can take up to 24 hours for more sensitive skin types.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Yes, though its best described as permanent hair reduction. This treatment will permanently reduce the total number of body hairs. They will not result in the permanent removal of all hair. The specific claim granted is “intended to effect stable, long-term, or permanent reduction” through selective targeting of melanin in hair follicles.
